Podcast: China as a ‘Near-Arctic’ State

In the two years since China published its first White Paper on Arctic policy, the country has continued to develop its scientific, economic and political interests in the far north.

Although there have been concerns raised in the United States and Europe about Beijing’s strategic aims in the Arctic, there has also been the perception of China as an opportunity for the region. OtC editor Marc Lanteigne is one of the specialists who contributed to a new podcast by ChinaDialogue Ocean about the China’s emergence as a ‘near-Arctic state’.
